What have you learned from your audience feedback?
Examples of Audience Feedback:






Above are some examples of audience feedback, which were received and given through Facebook. This took place with the three people watching the music video on YouTube before they gave me their own opinion on the music video in which I had made.

George - George's audience feedback was helpful as it allowed me to go out and re-shoot some shots were the framing was bad, and placed in the wrong position, showing too much of the torso and not as much of the member's head. As well as this, George's comment about the lip synchronisation being off was also wrong, which I have altered for my final draft, even though it is still slightly off it's the best I could get it all to match up correctly.

Jenny -
Jenny's audience feedback was also very helpful when it came to the editing side of my music video, after receiving this feedback I edited the video to make some of the cuts faster, and some of the longer scenes shorter. Although I have left some of the shots quite long as it draws attention in to the scene, and also the part of that song.

Thomas - Thomas' comment about how some of the shots are too long, and some are too short was helpful, and due to these comments I moved on to change the length of the shots. Although as previously said before I kept some shots long, this was for a reason, but the other shots which were lengthy have been changed, and some of the short shots have been made longer.

What was also helpful from the audience feedback responses was the positive comments about my use of people within the video, the editing techniques, and different effects. A bit favourite from the editing was the use of fade ins and fade outs when it came to the instrumental parts within the music video when Chris and Ford were playing guitars. Due to the positive comments, it has backed up my ideas about using different people to play as the singer for one song, as well as using different effects and backgrounds for the video. Breaking the conventions can often go wrong, but knowing this has made me learn that breaking conventions can be a good idea when it comes to making music videos, in some cases.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?




The ancillary texts work well with my video as the poster shows one of the main members of the cast, as well as similar colour schemes. This being when the black and white scenes are shown when the instrumentals are on screen, as well as the scenes when Chris is singing at the camera. They are also effective due to the colour schemes which are used throughout the DigiPak. This being the black backgrounds, as well as the red/orange faces which feature on each of the items, causing an effective use of continuity.

Final Draft



This is the final music video draft, to complete this draft I added black and white effects to the instrumental scenes, as well as the scene where Chris (the main singer) is singing. This adding a great effect to the video, as well as adding a few film transitions which makes the switching of the scenes more fluent and easier to watch instead of too many of the edits being straight cuts. I am happy with my final draft, as it has turned out exactly how I wanted it to.

Poster for the Ancillary Texts


This is the poster advertisement for the new single created by the band 'Unspoken' which will accompany my DigiPak which belongs to the single.

DigiPak


This is my finished DigiPak set into it's template, it features a CD and a DVD off the music video which I have made. As it is a single, there is no track list on the back of the DigiPak, there is only the band nme and the name of the song which then features a flare to make the back of the cover more interesting to look at. The front cover is simple, yet effective on the audience, the red being a vibrant colour which attracts attention. Next to the two discs there is also a set of lyrics for the song, that way the fans can learn the new song word for word.
